In 2021 Roost demolished our old conservatory built a replacement single story extension. Overall, Matt and John and their team of contacts were superb. They were professional, friendly and well organised, Design - John listened carefully to what we wanted and helpfully offered their information and advice. He has a fantastic eye for detail, as the designs included features from the main property, helping the extension blend in with the rest of the house. He was very patient and flexible as the design had several revisions whilst we determined exactly what we wanted. Matt also helped with planning application, confirming many of the aspects of the build. The work carried out was of a high standard and their care and detail were highly valued. Especially when initial bricks selected were not as close a match to the main property as the sample suggested. John was excellent at immediately informing me and proposing alternative solutions. They stuck to their quoted price and timescales, which was impressive considering materials were in shorter supply following the pandemic. They were extremely reliable, working late on the final few days to ensure the extension was completed before Christmas, which was fantastic as it enabled us to use with family over the Christmas period. Price was very reasonable and competitive with other companies we approached. Good availability, given that planning permission took far longer than expected. They took time to explain aspects of build, which was appreciated, given that i want the extension to last and be free from issues. I’m delighted with the extension, it's now our most used and favourite room in the house. Would certainly use Roost again for any further construction work. Matt and John of Roost, their team and contacts have provided us with the home we were looking for, adding a two storey side extension including a kitchen. They designed the plans around our preferences, helped us through the planning application process and were with us every step of the way through the build. They were well organised, setting a rough timescale and budget from the outset and keeping in contact with us regarding progress and any changes. The work carried out was of a high standard and their care and detail in the job are commendable; we have already recommended them via word of mouth to everyone we know. No problem was too big for them, even when we were panicking, the speed at which they solved things was brilliant, meaning their estimated timescale was not far off. We’ve been really satisfied with the work performed by Roost on our property based near wetherby. They’re happy to travel from York, they are honest, turn up when they say they are going to and I trust and value their opinion. There prices are reasonable too. We have used them recurrently in our house project for both big and small jobs because of their reliability and honesty. They upgraded our bathroom including striping out, removing a brick wall and steel, boarding, plastering, carefully relaying the original floorboards and installing the fixtures (pics attached). Since then they’ve completed most of our upstairs including new ceilings, floors, boarding and plastering. The work is always sympathetic in keeping with the age of the property. Would recommend. I called in Roost Design and Build initially to look at a damp issue which I suspected would end up requiring a new kitchen. They quickly diagnosed the problem and revealed the extent of the problem which had caused a severe amount of rot throughout floorboard joists. I decided early on to give them the entire project of sorting the damp and installing the new kitchen. There was a tight deadline but they completed the damp proofing work and laid the new floor very quickly and in time for the new kitchen units arriving. The kitchen itself was fitted to a very high standard including some bespoke requests beyond the standard units from the kitchen supplier. They were able to offer a complete package including plumbing and plastering. They were also able to offer sound advice throughout as well as putting forward some great design ideas of their own. The workers were very friendly and polite and were prepared to work overtime to ensure the original deadline for completion was met. I would 100% recommend and will not look anywhere else for any future work I may get done at the house.
